Since 2014, we have been working diligently to transform the lives and experience of underserved youth through a community approach. Since our inception, our organization has established a solid year-round sports, education and mentoring program in Kansas City, MO.

When Kansas City first declared a state of emergency in March due to the global health pandemic, a time of extreme uncertainty forced everyone to adjust to a challenging new reality. Global FC youth and families were among the most vulnerable to the effects of COVID-19 as parents lost work and students started remote learning despite limited access to technology and low mastery of the English language. Providing emotional support and engagement also became a critical part of our response. Global FC also jumped into action providing essential family support through our food program.

Global FC’s ability to not only adapt, but thrive during the pandemic is a testament of our program model. As an organization that was a response to a global immigrantion crisis and built on tackling challenges, we were able to build a culture of resilience that continues to endure a global crisis and serve the most vulnerable.
